I was working at the Wimbledon tennis championships one day and walking down Wimbledon hill from the village, minding my own business when suddenly I saw someone famous walking towards me – with a set of golf clubs. It was actress Dame Kristin Scott Thomas, preparing for her role in the film Keeping Mum. It’s a bad film, really bad, but the scenes with the womanising golf pro, played by the late Patrick Swayze are hilarious but also cringey, because I have met that sort before,,.
