Rory had a stunning 7 shot victory in the Canadian Open at Glen Abbey this weekend closing with a dominant round of 61.
“This is what I can do” he said “I felt free and trusted myself 100 per cent. I hot the shots when I needed to and this gives me confidence because I played the way I did”.
This win adds to the Players Championship he won in March and his worst finishes all season was one missed cut and a 21st place at The Masters. His results have been 2nd, 2 4th places, 5th, 6th, 8th twice and 9th. Fine form going into this week’s US Open, although the course may not suit his game.
This win has broken Rory’s bad run of leading going into the final round on 7 occasions and not converting. “I never get carried away when Iam playing good, or if I’m playing bad” he said.
